Surprised (and a bit scared? And also safer!)
It's good. Amazing and worth every penny for women trying to date safely. I understand that if a search subject has zero online presence, then it wouldn't have results to give. But let me tell you - it found the POSHMARK profile for someone I searched which contained a super blurry photo of them. But it was indeed them. Wow. Solid app.

Crazy
Dude this app works. Was at a concert last night and it identified this random girl that snuck into our selfies.

Worth every penny
Probably saved me hundreds of dollars and kept me from wasting time with a person who was trying to scam me by impersonating someone else. Highly recommend if you're doing online dating.

Gives me peace of mind
I feel a lot more comfortable talking and meeting up with matches from dating apps now that I can find their social media profiles to confirm they're real.

What people search for
Check a dating match is real
Before you meet someone from a dating app, search their photo to see whether it belongs to them. Reverse searching a dating profile is the quickest way to spot a stolen picture.
Spot a romance scam early
Scammers reuse the same faces across hundreds of profiles. If a photo turns up under several different names, you have your answer. See how scammer photos get reused.
Find someone's social profiles
One photo can surface public accounts across Instagram, TikTok and the wider web, without needing a name or username.
Verify someone you met online
Buying from a stranger, hiring someone, or taking a call with a new contact? Confirm they are who they say they are before money or time changes hands.
Reconnect after meeting once
A photo from a concert, a conference or a holiday is often enough to find someone by face when you never swapped contact details.
See where your own face appears
Search your own photo to find out where it has ended up, then get it taken down if it is somewhere you never put it.

Frequently asked questions
What is Facial Recognition?
Facial Recognition finds the social media profiles of people with a public online presence from a photo of their face. You can search right here on the web, or in the free iOS and Android app. Searches require a subscription. A search compares your photo against more than 1 billion indexed faces and returns the top 100 matches, each linking to a webpage where we have seen that face or people who look similar.
Can I find someone's social media by a photo?
Yes. You can find someone's social media from a photo with Facial Recognition, either right here in your browser or in the iOS and Android app. It matches the face in your photo against images that are publicly available online and links every match to the page it was found on, so you can check it yourself. That covers Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X, Reddit and public pages across the wider web. Dating apps are the exception: Tinder, Hinge and Bumble keep profiles behind a login, so no face search can reach them, whatever a service might claim. Screenshot your match's photo and search that instead, which often turns up the accounts behind it.
How can I stop getting catfished?
Run their profile photos through Facial Recognition before you meet, from your browser or the iOS and Android app. Screenshot the photo from their dating profile and search it: if the same face comes back on accounts under a different name, or does not appear anywhere at all, you have your answer.
Why not just use Google reverse image search?
Google matches images, not faces. It looks for copies of the exact photo you upload, so it returns nothing for a picture that has never been posted online. Face search analyses the face itself and maps its unique features, so it still works with old photos, angled photos or partially hidden faces, and finds the person in completely different pictures across the web.
Is this an alternative to PimEyes or FaceCheck.ID?
Yes. PimEyes leaves social media out of its index, so profiles are the one thing it will not find, and FaceCheck.ID takes payment in cryptocurrency only. Facial Recognition searches public social media alongside the wider web, and you pay the ordinary way: card, Apple Pay or Google Pay on the web, or through the App Store or Google Play in the app. Searches need a subscription, with optional credit top-ups.
Is Facial Recognition safe to use?
Yes. Any photo you upload is deleted within 24 hours. The original image is discarded once the face has been read from it, and the search results and a low resolution thumbnail are held only long enough to show you the results before being deleted too. Uploaded photos are never indexed, published or shared.
